On Thursday 23 March a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between IP Australia and the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China.

This new agreement strengthens our existing relationship with China on IP matters and supports the role of our newly created IP Counsellor to China, David Bennett. It’s a strong step towards increased communication on IP policies and practices between Australia and China.

The signing took place as part of a host of activities occurring during Chinese Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to Australia last week. This was highlighted in the media release by the Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, The Hon Arthur Sinodinos, and a media release by the Prime Minister on Friday 24 March.
